ABOUT ME AND MY PERSONAL WALKING JOURNEY TO AS REMISSION
Why I am sharing my story
I have been managing active Axial Spondyloarthritis since 2012, with my wider arthritis journey starting in 2005.

Over those 16 years I have learnt a lot about myself, about the condition and about how to cope with it.

Given how much support I have had from the wider AS community including charity partners, other patients and patient groups, alongside the dedication of my family, its time for me to give back and help others.

I am combining my passions for walking with my desire to help others like me and those organisations which have helped me in my journey.

This giving back is a variety of ways from:
Raising funds for NASS through walking challenges
Raising awareness of the condition and its impacts on life through a blog
Raising awareness of the work of organisations that have supported me
Share my experiences
Continuing to volunteer with Versus Arthritis, an arthritis charity, as volunteer online community moderator while inputting to research and patient involvement
Seeking out research projects to help improve care for AS patients
Alongside being a keen walker and supporter of arthritis causes I am a husband, father (of 2 a daughter and dog), brother, cricket fan, who enjoys a gritty crime novel / show.
